Writer’s Nook – complete
I haven’t written a post for a few weeks because the RUC is really keeping me busy (and fit). We’ve been painting walls and ceilings and laying floors in the dining/lounge room. It’s not completely finished yet so I’ll post some before and after shots when it’s done.
My book sales have also spiked in the past few weeks so I’m thinking I should stay quiet more often. I don’t know the reason but it seems to have happened since I posted my book trailers on multiple platforms (or this could just be wishful thinking and a big fat coincidence).
In the meantime, the writer’s nook is looking nice so I thought I’d post a few pics here for your viewing pleasure.
If you get bored, just rest your chin on your hands for 10 seconds and have a snooze while I go through it.
I also added some stained glass lights
After a big night out at a barbecue with friends on Sunday we had a ‘rest day’ yesterday and will be getting back into it this afternoon. Wish me luck (with loads of water)!
Here is the completion of The Big Room
Moving the entire house to the farm

And I expect that your trailers have sparked interest in your books. yay!

The kitchen is a dream, Nancy. I’ve always had crappy kitchens and it’s so nice to have one that I could build myself to suit me 😀
I’m hoping my trailers sparked some interest. It was fun (but hard work) making them 😉

LOVE IT Dianne. Must be so satisfying, all the hard work – it’s just gorgeous. And I can only imagine what all that air and space does for your creativity, to help empty the mind and let the ideas move around. And yay on the book sales, who cares why! Just that it is I suppose?
LikeLike
That’s exactly right – who cares why, it just happened YAY! Now that I’ve mentioned it they’ll probably drop off to nil for the next month (lol) 😉
The writer’s nook does wonders for creativity. Fresh air and beautiful views are just what I need. I can’t be cooped up when I write 😀

I love before and after pix! Looking fantastic!! Is there a door at the end of the kitchen? Is that looking outside? Would love to explore it…
LikeLike
There is a door at the end of the kitchen to the right that leads into the lounge/dining room. The other door is leading outside to the writer’s nook (where we do most of our casual eating as well). Then there is another door from the writer’s nook to the bedroom which is handy when I feel like getting up in the middle of the night to do some writing 😀
Maybe for my next update I should put in a plan of the house to make it clearer 😉

The house looks great, Dianne! That nook…wow! I can’t wait to see the final pictures. I’m wondering if any interesting critters have come to check out the nook.
Congratulations on your spike in book sales, but NO, it’s not because you’ve been quiet, so keep posting…when you have time of course. 🙂

Thanks so much, Jill. The critters have been rather quiet around here lately. I put things around like peppermint oil and tea tree oil and eucalyptus and they don’t really like the smell (lol). It’s ideal! 😀

You have done a fantastic job on your home, and your writing nook is wonderful. I would spend more time staring at the scenery instead of writing, so something like that wouldn’t work for me. And congrats on the spike in sales! 🙂

That can be a problem, Ruth. The view just seems to attract my attention far too much sometimes! 😉
The spike in sales may end as quickly as it began – but if that happens, it’s been fun while it lasted! 😉

I love seeing before and after pictures. And the RUC’s transformation is inspiring. We’re back in Sydney after a week or so in the hills of the Mid North Coast and I crave the sort of space you have. The book trailers were very good, so I’m not surprised but regardless I’m pleased for the spike 🙂

I’m a bit of a ‘space’ person and felt very constricted when I lived in the city. I’m making the most of this place that I can because we all know things never stay the same for a long time (now I’m sounding like a pessimist!) 😉

Oh my, look at that view. To die for. Keep the doors open so you can see it while you’re cooking. Gorgeous.

The doors are always open, Jacqui (except when I go to bed). It’s a wonderful kitchen to cook in – I’ve had some shockers in previous houses, but the good thing about this one was the ability to build it the way I like it and it seems to be working 😀
