Q: Can you give us a quick summary of who you are?
If I go by my twitter profile I am “Author, dream catcher magician and writer of The Everything Theory”
So I guess you could classify me as an author. I have five novels under my belt. Three of these have won national or international writing awards. Great to read Dianne! My favourite author Philip Pullman, once wrote in an interview to never write to an audience. Always write what you enjoy and write a book you yourself would love to read, because even though there will be people out there that don’t like what you have done; chances are there are many people who will.

Thanks Dan. I’m so glad I’m not the only one. I think its probably a waste of time scouring the market to see what’s popular as well, because by the time you finish the book it won’t be popular anymore and someone will have come up with something ‘new and exciting’. I really believe in just writing what you love to write 😉

Great Q & A . . . and I so agree about writing for yourself.

Whether or not something I write resonates with a given reader depends on the reader. If I write honestly, my intended audience will appear while those who are not intended to be in my pool of readers will drift away.
When we are enjoying the journey, we stop worrying about finding our intended audience ~ we trust that our intended audience will find us.

Great interview, I enjoyed the background info… I’m a few chapters in to The Eleventh Question and have the quandary that I don’t want to get through it too quickly but don’t want to put it down 🙂

Great interview! So good to hear you write for yourself rather than to a contrived formula. I think this way you end up with a warmer audience and true followers. Oh, and you’re a magician too! I hope it’s magic you practice and not sorcery. 🙂

Hi Dianne. That was a great interview – congratulations! I had to Google lead-lighting only to learn that it is essentially stained glass. That would make for a very unique hobby. Maybe you should write a novel about that.

I should have said ‘stained glass’ – silly me! I really want to make nice stained glass windows for some of the more protected parts of the old farm-house 😉
I’m really glad you liked the interview. I have had a lot of difficulty in the place I’m staying at to get an internet connection, but I’m going out to the old farm-house this afternoon and the connectivity is usually great there 😀 I’m currently suffering from ‘blog withdrawal! 😀

Actually, you were pretty authentic in saying lead-lighting. According to Wikipedia, “stained glass” is used only in relation to church windows, while leadlight applies anything vernacular, commercial, or domestic.
Be sure to post some pics of your creations whenever you do get around to making your leadlights. 🙂
