Casey – casement windows

It’s been a bit of an ‘animal’ week, with new puppies and a little dumped kitten – but I did manage to paint and hang four of my casement windows during all this excitement.

…the picture above shows more of the true colour of the window frames (Spanish cream). The picture below was taken with a flash, so they look a little washed out. But at least there’s no more paint on the glass…

I’ve also mocked up the colour scheme in Microsoft Paint for the RUC. I’m not very artistic, but I had to see if the paint I have will suit the house.

Before the RUC became the Rugby Union Club last century it was a government building, however I don’t know what kind of government building it was (I hope you’re following this because there will be a test at the end). It was moved last century from ‘place unknown’ and the hand-rails were originally blue. When it became the RUC, they were repainted green (I know this because I’ve sanded a lot of paint!) Soooooo – I’ve decided to take it back to it’s original Deep Ocean Blue and Spanish cream colours.

I certainly don’t have the front stairs at the right angle, but they will be ‘butterfly stairs’.

So there you have it – it’s all as clear as mud. I’m thinking of renaming the RUC now that it’s no longer a Rugby Union Club, but I’m not sure what (yet).

Speaking of renaming things – I’ve now named my new puppy. Because I’ve spent so much time on the casement windows, I’ve decided to call her Casey 😀 Thank you so much for the wonderful name suggestions – I was overwhelmed by so many beautiful puppy names. I’ve included them all below for you to see (and maybe use one day if you need to find a puppy name). The other puppy in the picture has been named Roshy because she has marks on her back that resemble a Rorschach test.

My Writer’s Nook is near completion and we all know that means … my dive back into novel writing will begin in earnest in the next few weeks which means I may have to take a break from blogging (I’ll post a picture of the Nook soon).
