I’m back out at the farm today (good internet coverage). Naturally, the old farm house isn’t habitable at the moment, so I’m staying in a house in town.
The house in town has appalling internet coverage, but it does have a nice view of Pyramid Mountain.

I’ve spent the last few days trying to visit my favourite bloggers and (not only does it take an age to get into a page) the connection seems to drop out just when I’ve made a comment on a post.
Please don’t think I’ve abandoned you all! I’m trying!
There’s nothing worse than writing a comment of several paragraphs on a blog post only to have it vanish in front of your eyes 😦
Yesterday I saw these animals in the back of a car and had a bit of a giggle.
Last night my mother called and seemed quite upbeat until she told me everyone missed me terribly. Then she hung up. I’ll give her a call today and let her know I’m safe. She hasn’t seen pictures of the old farmhouse yet and I’m not going to send her any until it’s finished – otherwise she’ll have visions of me living there with the snakes and rats and probably send in the cavalry to kidnap me and bring me home.
So I’m now heading off to try and visit some blogs that I’ve missed during the week.

It’s a really warm climate, John. Very tropical and close to the equator. It takes some getting used to considering I’ve come from snow country – both have their ups and downs 🙂

Those animals are great, Maddie. Someone told me about them and I didn’t believe them until I saw them yesterday. I love the dog – he looks so real 😀 I couldn’t resist taking a couple of shots!

There was a beautiful blanket of cloud hugging the top of it and I snapped it just in time before it disappeared:D
I don’t think the connection will be sorted out, its a bit of a blackspot here. I’ll just have to wait until the farm house is ready in late Jan and then I’ll be powering on!;)

I love the animals. I was looking at getting one of the sheep for my garden last year. Can’t think now why I never got around to it. Good luck with the house.

The farmyard stock are so cute. I saw a ute once filled with nothing but different breeds of dogs..must admit I did a double take to see if they were real. Good luck with your internet, I am sure your followers will forgive you if you are out of range for a while 🙂

Never fear Dianne.. I even blogged about it… when it takes 30 minutes to upload a post to wordpress I want to give up… comments that merely disappear… WP asking me to log in when I’m already logged in… it has been terrible here as well… I think the Internet has had a hiccup…

Now I forgot to make the comment about Pyramid Mountain, that is so magnificent…with the snow on the top how beautiful… as for the animals in the bukkie (or van or pick up, can’t remember what you call them there) those are marvelous… I had a friend who was a Rep for a paint company and drove around with an empty can stuck on his car… he had so many people take photos of his car or try to stop him to tell him he’d forgotten his paint on the roof… I think these could draw a very similar reaction…

The cap on pyramid mountain is cloud (I’m not very good at capturing these things) but it’s so hot here at the moment that the thought of snow sounds fantastic:D

Dianne, I think you’re off on an absolutely fabulous adventure and I also think any time you see a pig, a dog, and a sheep in the back of a pickup truck together it’s a definite sign that you have “arrived” in the country. This morning, as I think of my country place in Texas and am living in the city in South Carolina, I find myself jealous!! Your mum will come around or as Granny Selma used to tell the old woman Slow, there’s always the telephone!!

Pyramid Mountain is glorious. Good luck in you new home–sounds like a lot of work but you sound determined. Just don’t take any animals home unless they are like these and do not need to be fed. Looks like art in a truck.

The animals are great, Theo! I just couldn’t resist when I saw them.
I actually took pics of the farmhouse yesterday but forgot my lead to the laptop so couldn’t put them in the post 😦 I’ll get them in the next one 🙂

So glad to hear that you are safe in your “new” farm house. Good luck with all the renovations and in the meantime, take a deep breath. Having gone through updating an old house myself, I know what you’re facing. Believe me, it will all come together and then you’ll wonder why you got stressed over such a thing. Ironic that you have better connectivity at the farm, instead of in town. Love the animals in the back of the truck. Transitions are challenging for those who preferred the “status quo.”

It is very ironic! (Perfect word for my situation) The farm sits in direct line with the transmitter and in the town where I am I’m a long way from it.

I’m certainly glad you are working on your “open-door” policy at the farmhouse!! Although the fresh air would be welcome, I’m not so sure frequent visits from other creatures would be!! All the best. 🙂

Spent much of the weekend reading Let Sleeping Gods Lie; Dianne, it’s a fantastic novel that again I could NOT put down! Nick, Ali, and Col, as well as Howard, Shirley, Gillian, and Christian, have been in my head all morning! I’ll be rereading it soon enough; it’s definitely on my top ten novel list. 🙂

The first thing I thought of when I saw the animals in the back of the pick-up was the joke about the pigs in a pick- up truck, which I do not remember at all, but I chuckled just the same.

I had a fabulous day today. I took my friend to her physical therapy class and we went shopping and sat down for a coffee and lunch. I’m feeling very refreshed thisafternoon! 😉 (even though it’s very hot!)

That truck is hilarious! Bummer about the internet. I find I have a problem with blogs with a lot of pictures and I will write a comment and then it goes away, argh, even when I have fast coverage. I end up not going back much (sad to say!)

The view looks spectacular with the mountain and the palm tree. It looks a lot better than the six months of rain and grey we’re sliding into here in Vancouver. Soak up some sun for me. 🙂

I can identify with you, my mother hates that I live in Norway (she thinks its a third world country, because we don’t have the same restaurants and stores as they have in the US) haha!

Bad internet connection? That’s like not having oxygen. I think I’d have to take my chances and sleep with whatever was inhabiting the farmhouse 🙂 (Only halfway kidding….I haven’t yet reached the phase of admitting I have a problem.)

I always wanted to live in a country/ on a farm/ anywhere but not in the city – as long as there is internet access! Love your pictures, those (ceramic?)animals are amazing! Funny though how our parents still get shy on the rare occasions when they express feelings openly… old school, mine are the same. 😉
