Author in the spotlight

I’m an Author in the Spotlight this month. The lovely Tiffany is spending an entire month reading my books, interviewing me and reviewing. I don’t know how she does it – what an amazing lady! If you get some time please go over and check out her blog (oh – she’s also doing give-aways of my books).

I’ve had a great week. I found myself laughing so loudly on Friday morning that I think I woke the neighbors. Bonnie had commented on my weekly writing challenge post and we got into a conversation about her living on Clyde street – she said she can tell someone’s age by saying she is – Bonnie ON Clyde (this goes straight over the top of younger heads).

Yesterday I went to the dentist. I had a rebel tooth (back molar) that refused to play nice so it had to go. I have a lovely dentist. She works with an international agency who go to disaster zones to identify victims. When I’m sitting in her chair with my mouth in that awkward lock-jaw shape I feel lucky that she’s examining my teeth while I’m still alive. It kind of eases the pain a bit.

It’s now been a week since I retired and every day has felt like Sunday. Even though I’ve been furiously cleaning and packing for the big move, it’s still been good.

How was your week?

Well, you may find that having so many Sundays can become lackluster. Look at it this way, now you have Momndays off which you never had when you worked. And everybody else is working so you have peace and quiet to work in. >KB

The big move is getting closer and closer – more packing and cleaning. I’m looking forward to not doing any more of that for a while 😀

Welcome to the good life with the exception of the visit to the dentist…doesn’t it amaze you when you begin to pack to move? Where did all this stuff come from and how can I get rid of it? 🙂 Hope the coming weeks are as freeing as Week 1. Warmest wishes from your friend across the miles and water!

I read Tiffany’s wonderful review. Isn’t it lovely when readers enjoy your stories.

Ha, ha, Bonnie sounds fun. 🙂

So why is it there’s no tooth fairy for grown-ups?

I have a tip for packing (although you might already do this). Make a list of the contents of each box as you go e.g., 1. Frypan, toaster, kettle, can opener … then put the number on each side as well as the top of the box. I did this for our last two moves and it was great being able to know exactly which box to go to in an emergency.

Oh dear! My boxes are packed 😦 I have put names on the outside though – like ‘kitchen’, ‘laundry’ and ‘junk’! LOL! It’s going to be fun unpacking…

Thank you for going over to Tiffany’s site – I seriously don’t know how she can read so many books and give reviews on them as well as interviews. She’s a tough and fair reviewer so I was really happy when I saw it! 😀

Hi Dianne, I sure hope you weren’t her disaster of the week. I had a dental visit this week, too. Wound up with an extraction and temp bridge. Ouch. Am enjoying The Eleventh Question. I know I promised to pay my 99cents but bad, bad, Amazon wouldn’t cooperate with my iPad so had to go to Smashwords to get it. Looking forward to the coming reviews on you blog. Take care and enjoy retirement.

Ooh, “retirement” to spend time writing sounds loverly. 🙂 It’s been a good week, although I’m still getting used to the time change we had last weekend. And the Muse was nice enough yesterday to drop off the idea and some details for Meghan’s next short story. Not a bad week at all!

I took a big leap in faith that a computer program I develop, would sell once encoded, we are testing the program as we speak and it is magnificent. We already have international interest in it, so we’re hopeful. I also wrote a 120 000 word book on the legal side of golf courses for the local market.. it was published by us and the first books rolled of the printers last week, before we were ready the first has sold.. not cheap I can tell you, R 7500 a copy… don’t know what that is in your currency, but I am so ecstatic that my semi retirement is going to be lived out at my pace and not an employers… the only thing, now I work for a horrible Boss… ME..

My week has been wordy, also with some cleaning; we had recessed lights put in our kitchen, so so nice! But I took the opportunity to do one of those really big clear-outs, even wiping down framed pictures. Now it’s ready for the holidays, and just looks so nice. 🙂

My husband has been talking about retirement for a couple of years now; too bad he has another dozen or so to wait! Must get writing done while he’s busy; no idea what we’ll do when he’s free.
