I’m no DayTripper
So here’s the plan for the road trip:
Get in the car and just keep driving from point A to point B (with stops, should take about 5-6 days)
Total kilometres 3,ooo (give or take a few). For the Americans among us – I guess this is about the same distance as driving from Los Angeles to Kentucky. For the Brits – Birmingham to Instanbul. For the İstanbullulars – Instanbul to Birmingham and so on and so forth…
If I don’t check out my favourite blogs – please don’t think I hate you
Sometimes my phone only lets me ‘like’ and not comment – or – I may just be out of range or battery.
- Wi-fi – check
- Battery charger – check
So here I am in the car waiting for hubby…
- Driver – check
I’m hoping to get some nice pics on the way. I’ve already taken one of my foot while getting into the car which is an excellent indication of my photographic ability. {Photo not attached to save embarrassment}
I’ve placed you all comfortably in my lap top so you can share the boredom of the road with me
- Lap top – check
Start the engine
- Car keys – check
Bye for now! Talk soon

Happy trails!
Thank you! It’s windy and raining (but at lest it’s stopped snowing)
oooh exciting – say hello to Cairns for me, if that is where you are headed! Have a fun journey.
Yes – Cairns it is! I’ll say hello for you, soak up a bit of sunshine and hopefuly gets some pics
Oh wait you’re going the opposite direction? Haha. Enjoy Cairns!
Hahaha! Thank you!!!
Don’t you just hate it when you post a comment and can’t take it back? Hahahaha – I’ve done that so many times and then gone, ‘Do’h!’ go back, go back – NOOOO. I can’t change it!
For any Canadian readers, it’s from Vancouver to Toronto. Have a wonderful trip!

Hahaha! The only thing I want to kill at the moment is my laptop because I can’t get it to play nicely. It may end up in the pacific ocean!
Road trips are fun, but it’s nice to go home after being away, too. I hope you have a great trip. I look forward to seeing pics of your feet…I mean, travels when you get back
I’ve got a pic of my eye and nose so far:) but I have seen wallaby with a joey in its pouch and I think I got it without too much blur so I’m hoping to get that up as soon as my laptop decides it wants to play nice;)
Now that’s some distance! Good luck and have a great trip!
p.s. you don’t happen to have a fridge in the car, huh?.. It’s pretty handy on long trips
Yes – the car comes complete with fridge!

Woo hoo! Now that’s what I’m talking about:)
Have a ton of fun!! I got to do part of the same drive once when I visited friends while they were living in Australia. I met them in Sydney and then we drove up to Brisbane. Drive safely and can’t wait for updates along the way or whenever you can plug-in!! Happy happy travels!
Thanks bonnie! Plugging in is very hit and miss at the moment. Hopefully I’ll be out of this blackspot tomorrow:)
Funny post about starting your trip – check! LOL! The fact that you’ve already taken a picture of your foot means we can expect some funny pics along the way. And I was amazed that Istanbul is so close to Britain! Who Knew?
Lol! Just a stone’s throw away as they say this neck of the woods…
have a rockin’ trip!!! hugz!
Trying to reply to comments but I keep dropping out. Thank you! (Hope this gets through)

Thank you, Savtiri!
Have fun on your trip and keep safe. I hope the rain has stopped in Cairns by the time you get there. Friends of ours took their caravan up there for three weeks and it rained nearly the whole time so they came home again. Poor things.
We’ve been in touch with the relatives and they tell us the weather is fine at the moment. Just waiting for cyclone dianne to hit
Have a great time, Dianne! Uh, and I also wanted to tag, I mean Nominate you for this blog award

Love road trips. I haven’t been on one in years, because my kids would spend it bickering and my ears are sensitive.
But soon! Have a great time.
My kids are all grown up now. This time it’s just me and hubby – we’re loving every second of it. your time will come – start planning now becaus they grow up very fast
Oh I so remember that drive. Take lots of music, and water, lots and lots of water. And make sure someone knows when you’re due to arrive on a regular basis. A little safety tip from one who’s travelled all over Australia and lived to tell the tale:-) Wi fi won’t work between big cities so let someone else know when you’re due to arrive somewhere just in case you break down. Don’t pick up hitchhikers, even if they look nice, have lots of water and swap drivers every two to three hours to avoid fatigue, it kills as many people as drunk driving. And keep us updated!
I’ve learned the wi fi thing, Alistair! It a pain in the neck (I’m on temporarily this morning).
Thanks for the tips (everyone should take note of these no matter where they’re travelling).
The hitch-hiker comment is so cool – whenever we see someone on the side of the road hubby says ‘there’s a little friend for you’. Hehehe. He wouldn’t pick up anyone unless his life depended on it!
We’ve done this trip a few times now and will definitely keep you posted. If we break down I’ll just write a blog about it until someone finds us
Love that kind of holiday – enjoy!!
Me too, Lisa. SO refreshing, just getting in the car and getting away for a while
Enjoy! Sounds like it will be wonderful. I can’t wait to see your pictures and read all about it.
Best
Oh, so wish you were here. I saw the cutest wallaby’s outside my brother’s place. Once we’re in a good wi fi zone, I’ll try to upload the pics
Have a great trip Dianne.
Thank you! All going to plan (so far)
Good luck! Hope you have a great time!
Thanks, Tiffany! Temporarily in this morning so I read your 50 Shades review
I saw and loved your comment… Thank you! I hope you are having a great time on the road!
YAY! Have fun!!!!!
Will do!!!! I think I’m back on line today woo hoo
Hey, I’ve done that drive. Wave on your way past Sydney.
Oh no! I’ve passed Sydney now! I’ll wave on the way back
Have fun! Don’t get lost or die. I’ve heard dying is bad for your health. So don’t do that.
Hahahaha! You’re a classic! I promise I’ll try not to die
That’s good – cuz if I had to brush up on my necromancy to bring your butt back, I might be a little cranky. Especially if you decide to kick the bucket in the morning.
Not a morning person?
Ugh
Have a great trip Dianne! That’s a long drive! Kat
Thanks, Kat! It’s a very long way indeed
